Itinerary

Day 1 : Delhi - Paro - Thimphu (55km, Approx./ 1.1/2-Hour Drive)

Day 1: Arrival in Paro, Transfer to Thimphu

  • Upon arrival at Paro airport, complete immigration and baggage procedures.
  • Meet our representative and transfer to Thimphu.
  • En-route stop at Chuzom, the confluence of Thimphu and Paro rivers.
  • Visit Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang) for panoramic views of Thimphu valley.
  • Explore Thimphu's main streets and market area.
  • Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 2: Thimphu Sightseeing

  • Visit Pangri Zampa Monastery, a 16th-century monastery and Buddhist astrology school.
  • Explore:
    • Textile Museum showcasing Bhutanese weaving techniques.
    • National Library with ancient manuscripts and modern academic books.
    • Institute for Zorig Chusum (Arts & Crafts School).
    • Folk Heritage Museum depicting Bhutanese rural life.
  • Visit Memorial Chorten, a stupa honoring Bhutan's third King.
  • Explore Changangkha Lhakhang, a 12th-century temple and monastic school.
  • Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 3: Thimphu to Gangtey (150km, Approx. 5-Hour Drive)

  • Drive to Gangtey via Dochu-la Pass (10,130 ft), known for its 108 stupas.
  • Visit Gangtey Monastery and enjoy the serene Gangtey Valley.
  • Explore Phobjikha Valley, winter home of black-necked cranes.
  • Visit Black Neck Crane Information Centre.
  • Overnight in Gangtey.

Day 4: Gangtey to Punakha (85km, Approx. 3-Hour Drive)

  • Visit Gangtey Goempa, the largest Nyingmapa monastery in Western Bhutan.
  • Trek along Gangtey Nature Trail through Phobjikha Valley.
  • Drive to Punakha and visit Punakha Dzong, "Palace of Great Happiness".
  • Excursion to Chimi Lhakhang, known as the temple of fertility.
  • Explore Wangdue town in the evening.
  • Overnight in Punakha.

Day 5: Punakha to Paro (125 Km, Approx. 4-Hour Drive)

  • Visit Simtokha Dzong, Bhutan’s oldest fortress (1627), now a Buddhist school.
  • Drive to Paro and check into the hotel.
  • Visit Ta Dzong, now the National Museum, with extensive collections.
  • Short walk to Rinpung Dzong, a historic fortress and monastery.
  • Explore Paro city center and do some shopping.
  • Overnight in Paro.

Day 6: Paro Sightseeing

  • Hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest) perched on a cliff above Paro Valley.
  • En-route visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples.
  • Return to Paro and relax.
  • Overnight in Paro.

Day 7: Paro (Departure)

  • After breakfast, transfer to Paro airport for departure.
  • Assistance with departure formalities.
  • Departure from Paro.
